It can mean a musical currently performed on Broadway, but is most often used to describe a musical that was once performed on Broadway, but is produced and performed in a smaller, amateur arena. It is a term often used to mislead others on the level of actual expertise and professionalism of a program or person.
ON BROADWAY: “On Broadway” defines a performer who has physically performed on Broadway. We have created this term to clarify and emphasize the exceptional value we provide. Every single member of our faculty is a working Broadway professional. This is a rare opportunity for you to not only learn from the best, but also receive advice from artists who know the ins and outs of making it in the current Broadway world.
