BROADWAY: a theatrical performance presented in one of the 40 professional theatres with 500 or more seats located in the Theatre District centered along Broadway, and in Lincoln Center, in Manhattan in New York City.
BROADWAY MUSICAL: the term “Broadway musical” has a wide-ranging definition. It can mean a musical currently performed on Broadway, but is most often used to describe a musical that was once performed on Broadway, but is produced and performed in a smaller, amateur arena. It is a term often used to mislead others on the level of actual expertise and professionalism of a program or person.
ON BROADWAY: “On Broadway” defines a performer who has physically performed on Broadway. We have created this term to clarify and emphasize the exceptional value we provide. Every single member of our faculty is a working Broadway professional. This is a rare opportunity for you to not only learn from the best, but also receive advice from artists who know the ins and outs of making it in the current Broadway world.
ACTORS' EQUITY ASSOCIATION (AEA or Equity): an American labor union that represents more than 49,000 Actors and Stage Managers in the United States. Equity seeks to advance, promote and foster the art of live theatre as an essential component of society. All “on Broadway” performers are a member of Equity.
